The Acting Dean of the College of Engineering and Petroleum at Kuwait University, Prof. Dr. Ayed Attallah Salman, announced that the college has obtained ISO 9001:2015 certification for its quality management system after successfully meeting all the required conditions and standards and passing the rigorous audit and review process by the global company Royal Cert. With this achievement, the college becomes one of the first colleges at Kuwait University to receive this certification.
Prof. Dr. Salman stated that obtaining the ISO certification will enhance integration among various management systems and expedite the serious steps toward automating and digitizing work within the college.
For his part, the Vice Dean for Planning, Consultation, and Training, Dr. Osama Ali Al-Omair, confirmed that the college's acquisition of this certification is a culmination of its efforts to document and develop its procedures using advanced technology. The certification reflects the high standards of service provided by the college and its ongoing commitment to continuous improvement to offer high-quality services in an environment characterized by the highest levels of efficiency. This aligns with the college's and the university's overall vision to keep up with outstanding practices in work mechanisms and applications. He pointed out the college's commitment to applying the highest standards of quality, safety, and excellence in its services, supporting the successful implementation of its future plans and achieving its strategic objectives in line with the goals of the university and the government.
He noted that obtaining the ISO certification strengthens the connection between the college and both the government and private sectors by continually developing standards that meet work needs and requirements.
Meanwhile, the team responsible for implementing the ISO 9001:2015 quality system in the college, including Engineer Ghazi Sari Al-Shammari and Engineer Marwa Suleiman Al-Essa, mentioned that the ISO system unifies the systems, processes, and standards governing work. They have documented all necessary instructions and procedures in accordance with the standard criteria related to improving the services provided.
They explained that several meetings were held with the offices and departments involved in the certification process, represented by the Dean's Office, the Offices of the Associate Deans, the Engineering Training and Graduates Office, the Administrative Director's Office, and also with representatives from the certifying company to ensure compliance with the established standards.
