The Office of the Vice Dean for Planning, Consultation, and Training held the College of Engineering and Petroleum Training Forum on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at the Conference Center in Sabah Al-Salem University City – Shadadiyah. Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Engineering and Petroleum, Prof. Dr. Khalid Al-Hazzaa, and in the presence of the associate deans and heads of academic departments at the College of Engineering and Petroleum, the event saw participation from over 40 entities from the government, oil, and private sectors.
The Acting Dean of the College of Engineering and Petroleum, Professor Dr. Khalid Al-Hazzaa, began by welcoming the attendees and emphasized the university's community role and the importance of collaboration between the College of Engineering and Petroleum and various state sectors, both governmental and private. He also highlighted the significance of cooperation in the fields of development, job training, and consulting studies to find solutions to challenges and improve the work environment for the service of our beloved country, Kuwait. He concluded his speech by thanking the attendees and wishing them success.
The Dean then met with the Vice Dean for Planning, Consultation, and Training, Dr. Abdullah Al-Ajmi, who welcomed the esteemed guests, hoping that this forum would be highly beneficial and achieve its intended goals. He emphasized the importance of cooperation between the college and state sectors. One of the key pillars and objectives of this cooperation is in the field of training, such as training courses and programs for new hires in various organizations, as well as specialized courses for supervisory positions and other specialized training. He added that one of the main tasks of the Office of the Vice Dean for Planning, Consultation, and Training is to provide consultations and studies to find suitable solutions and offer specialized technical advice, as well as inspection, evaluation, and measurement through the Engineering Testing and Calibration Center.
Following this, a presentation was made for all seven academic departments by the training coordinators at the consultation office, highlighting the office's role in providing the best consulting and training services that contribute to community development and building national capacities.
